Chocolate is far more than just a fantastically healthy and absolutely delicious treat. Its Latin name, theobroma cacao, translates directly as "Food of the Gods." I believe this refers to a deeper teaching within cacao, shared with me by cacao growers, about the sacredness of all life.
As a consumer of chocolate, as a chocolate eater, I must be the very god or goddess that cacao was intended for. By mindfully consuming chocolate, I am reminded of my own sacredness, and as a result I become stronger in the knowledge of and embodiment of my own intrinsic value and worth. From this calm place within, I can share my true gifts with greater ease.
"I have a vision for you. When you wake up in the morning, your blood is singing at the thought of being who you are and doing what you do. That as you go through the day, you can sink to your knees with gratitude at the tremendous good fortune bestowed upon you. That as you go through the day, you become radiantly alive several times." - Srikumar Rao
"Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman
